This is an exciting opportunity to lead the national careers programme for one of Britain’s biggest industries – the maritime sector. You will be a key member of a small but dynamic and delivery-focused team, with responsibility for driving forward a portfolio of projects including leading on a new UK-wide careers campaign and engagement with schools and other youth groups.
Teamwork and collaboration are at the heart of this role, and success will be based upon your ability to build upon the work already underway, set out clear plans to take things to the next level and encourage others to support their delivery.
Maritime UK is growing its team with colleagues based in major maritime regions across the country. Responsible for around 10% of the total UK sector, the Solent is a major national and international maritime cluster. This post will draw upon the LEP’s expertise in developing careers programmes, support activity in this major maritime region, and drive work across all parts of the country.
You will have access to leaders from across the maritime sector and will work closely with government officials to deliver truly national, all-encompassing activity that increases awareness of the maritime sector and encourages people to consider a career in maritime.
