Your New Role
Reporting to the Head of PMO you will be responsible for supporting the set-up, implementation and day-to-day operation of a Programme Management Office within the Regeneration Directorate. You will play a proactive role in knowledge management to promote and implement best practice programme and project management methods, standards and documentation. You will provide a consultancy service that offers advice and guidance, as well as developing and maintaining an MS Project Programme that captures tasks and activities to be undertaken throughout the project lifecycle. You will assist in developing PMO solutions to issues through tools and templates, evaluating their effectiveness and efficiency whilst keeping an up to date log.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will need to demonstrate excellent literacy and numeracy skills and ideally have the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification, although this is not essential. You should be experienced in MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint at an intermediate level as well as have experience developing policies. You will have a good understanding of the structures, processes and governance frameworks across the Council and experience of managing a range of projects. You should demonstrate experience implementing business change and strong interpersonal and communication skills. You should have a strong positive attitude combined with the ability to work collaboratively and build relationships. You should demonstrate strong coaching and mentoring skills as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills.
