Senior Case Worker – Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (Virtual School and College)

Your New Role

Portsmouth City Council is committed to helping young people achieve the best possible outcomes. This work supports our Looked After Children progress to education, training or employment.

The key purpose of this role is to ensure all Looked After Children and Young People with SEND are placed in an appropriate educational provision within statutory timescales and to support schools to remove barriers to the successful learning and achievement of Looked After Children with special educational needs and disabilities.  You will also support other team members to develop strategies and approaches to secure improved learning for Looked after Children with SEND.

What you’ll need to succeed

You will have relevant qualifications in education, SEN or social work as well as experience of SEND teaching in a school setting and evidence of raising attainment for students with SEND.  A SENCO qualification would be desirable.
