Alternative Provision Progress Leader – Required for September 2021
Salary: £21,841 – £25,481 FTE (dependent on the experience of the successful candidate)
37 hours per week, term time only
We are seeking to appoint a Progress Leader to successfully ensure the pastoral wellbeing and outstanding progress of students who access our alternative provision. The position involves working closely with the pastoral team and our Inclusion Leader to effectively manage the progress, behaviour and attendance of the students in this group, regularly liaising with parent/carers, staff, students and external agencies. The number of students accessing our alternative provision is variable as we continuously aim to support their return to mainstream provision; however, the total number of students accessing this provision is generally around 30 across both KS3 and KS4.
Applicants should be confident, articulate and with a strong personality to enable them to deal with students in a variety of situations. Being able to build and maintain mutually respectful relationships with staff, students and parent/carers is essential. The successful candidate will be relentless and uncompromising in securing excellent outcomes for all students.
Applicants must have good personal levels of literacy and numeracy, lots of patience, and experience of and the ability to build positive relationships with young people who may be lacking in confidence about their learning.
Applicants should have an understanding of progress in secondary schools; much of the role will be to secure positive outcomes for every student.
