Salary – UPR1-3 (£38,690-£41,604) + SEN Allowance

Contract – Permanent, Full-Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SENCO/Inclusion Manager to be part of the school’s and nursery’s journey, following the promotion of the current post holder. We are looking for an excellent practitioner and leader who is ready to be part of the school’s journey and who will work in partnership with the Leadership team. The Headteacher and governors are seeking an ambitious and inspirational professional with energy, drive and a firm commitment to high standards and achievement for all pupils in all subjects.

This will be a SENCo role with some teaching commitment. The school currently has 22% of SEN pupils on roll.

We are looking for an excellent leader and classroom practitioner who:

  • Is passionate about SEND and has achieved the National Award in Special Educational Needs Co-ordination (NASENCo)
  • Has had previous experience as a qualified SENCo
  • Is able to effectively lead a team of learning support assistants and manage the provision for pupils with additional needs
  • Has a passion for how children learn and high expectations of all pupils in all subjects
  • Has excellent behaviour management
  • Has the ability to build strong but professional relationships with parents
  • Shares a commitment to working as part of a cohesive team and work effectively with staff
  • Can motivate and challenge children by creating stimulating, vibrant and purposeful lessons and environment
  • Has the experience of being a KS1 and KS2 SENCo or Inclusion Manager
  • Can make a positive contribution to the strategic aims, values and ethos of Highbury Primary School and the University of Chichester Academy Trust
  • Has knowledge of writing reports and EHCPs
  • Demonstrates principles and practice of high quality teaching and learning
  • Has monitored and evaluated the quality of teaching and learning alongside pupil performance data, identified areas of development and created plans to support improvement
  • Has an excellent knowledge of SEND provision strategies and the ability to coach colleagues in acquiring and using these
  • Has excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to coach colleagues in acquiring and using these
  • Has the ability to challenge, inspire and motivate others, leading by example.
