Communicator – Secondment/fixed term opportunity until 31.08.2022 due to funding
Band: 6 Salary: £21,841 – £25,481 p.a, pro rata, (£14,391-£16,789 for 27.5 hours, TTO 40 weeks)
27.5 hours per week Monday- Friday, Term Time Only (40 weeks per year)

Your new role
The Vision and Hearing Team comprises of Specialist Teacher Advisers, Communication Support Workers for hearing impaired pupils, and a rehabilitation worker for visually impaired pupils.
Within this role you will support deaf and hearing impaired pupils with all aspects of communication in a school environment. You will secure access to the curriculum for pupils by interpreting content of lessons through appropriate signing medium. In addition you will develop the individual child’s knowledge and use of signing to support language development understanding and broaden learning.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will be appropriately qualified with Signature sign language level 2 Qualification (ESSENTIAL) and knowledge of Signed English (i+ ii). (Desirable but not essential). In addition you will possess a sound base of current issues pertinent to the communicator role as well as having credibility with a range of potential client groups.
