To plan, develop, and implement Portsmouth Museum & Art Gallery’s digital engagement and storytelling resources to support an excellent visitor and learning experience leading up to and during, the major new exhibition Silver City: 500 years of Portsmouth’s History (Opens May 28th 2022- closes Feb 2023). Utilise the content and engagement methods to broaden audiences.

Your New Role

Working with the Engagement Officer and the museum curators you will contribute towards the delivery of digital engagement, collections access and interpretation, and audience engagement. The silver collection has been professionally photographed and in the process of researching the pieces, some amazing stories and anecdotes have emerged that would lend themselves to digital interpretation. For the development and duration of the exhibition, you will be part of  telling these exciting stories through vibrant images, vox pops, sound bites and more.

What you’ll need to succeed

You will have significant proven experience in a similar cultural or heritage organisation. You will be a creative person who has excellent camera skills for film and photography.  You will also have knowledge of social media content, analytics and listening tools and have an understanding of how multiple digital channels work in harmony.

You will have proven experience writing, editing and managing digital content for websites and across social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.  You will also have experience of working with content management systems (CMS).

If you are highly analytical, able to prove you have strong attention to detail with an ability to understand, analyse, report on and present/visualise data in an engaging way then we would love to hear from you.
