Harry Sotnick house is a 92 bedded nursing home which is spread over 2 floors and 4 wings. These jobs will be mostly based on the Discharge to assess unit on the top floor of Harry Sotnick house. The home is rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission.
We are looking to recruit Domestic Assistants who will assist in a mixture of domestic and general tasks.
Your New Role
As a Domestic Assistant you will be responsible for carrying out general cleaning duties in an assigned or specific area/wing of the unit. There may also be occasions where you will be required to do deep clean. You will have the responsibility to report to the assistant manager of any defects to furniture, fittings and equipment, you can do this either verbally or in writing. You will also be supporting with the preparation of meals making sure food is presented to high standards. As well as carrying out cleaning duties, you will also be carrying out general tasks where you will be required to assist with collection of jugs and then refilling them. General tasks will also include making beds as and when needed-this will usually be discussed with assistant manager.
What you’ll need to succeed
Ideally you would have previous experience in undertaking domestic work within a residential setting and/or have worked a cleaning schedule. As you will be dealing with food, you would have a good understanding of good food hygiene. It is essential to have had a formal or informal training or regarding cleaning. You will be required to undertake a wide range of cleaning and general duties as well as be flexible with other duties which may be required of you. You will have good communication skills and be able to communicate in an understanding manner particularly when dealing with elderly people
