We are excited to be looking for 2 ELSAs (one for EYFS/KS1 and one for KS2) to join our dedicated team in the heart of Portsmouth so thank you for your interest in Ark Dickens Primary Academy.

We are proud of our school values of kindness, community, unity, resilience, respect and aspiration. They underpin all we do and drive our vision of ‘Be Your Best!’ for the whole school community.

At Ark Dickens, we are committed to our wonderful community and amazing children. We have high aspirations and expectations for all and a strong and passionate team of staff who are dedicated to ensuring that every child achieves their full potential, becomes a well-rounded, successful citizen, ready to take on new adventures and challenges along their journey.

We know every child in depth and use this knowledge to plan for our children ensuring high expectations at all times. We recognise that some children have additional social, emotional and mental health needs and so we are looking to develop our pastoral team with 2 ELSAs/Pastoral Support Assistants.

We are seeking motivated and nurturing individuals to support our children with their social, emotional and mental health needs, their behaviour and their attendance. Working closely with staff, children, parents and external agencies, you will be instrumental in supporting and caring for our children at key points through the day, delivering interventions and working with them through carefully adapted lessons and provision to ensure they thrive and achieve their very best.

Leaders look after staff. We offer a collaborative team, ensuring staff receive the support, training and responsive feedback to help staff be their best. Colleagues are encouraged to learn from one another and we ensure we regularly celebrate success and hard work is always valued and recognised.

We are part of the Ark network of schools and work closely with Ark Ayrton and Ark Charter to serve the children of Portsmouth.  We are committed to ensuring our children are well-equipped to successfully make the next exciting step in education as they move onto secondary school and furthermore take their place as great citizens of their community.
