The Solent LEP is a partnership organisation between the business community, the Higher Education sector, three unitary authorities, eight district councils and one county council, all of whom are actively working together to secure a more prosperous and sustainable future for the Solent area. These make up a fully-elected Board of 15 directors. 

The Careers & Enterprise Company is an employer-led organisation that has been set up to inspire and prepare young people for the fast-changing world of work. Its role is to act as a catalyst in the fragmented landscape of career and enterprise, supporting programmes that work, filling gaps in provision and ensuring coverage across the country. The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) are working in partnership with the Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) to deliver the Solent-wide Enterprise Adviser Network (EAN) and pilot a Careers Hub in the East of the Solent from September 2018. The driving focus across this work is to bridge the gap between education and employers. Central to both areas of work is the Enterprise Coordinator (EC). The Solent LEP Enterprise Coordinator (EC) sits at the heart of a local cluster system in order to help schools and colleges improve their careers and enterprise activities and to engage with the world of work.

Overview of Role

The Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) is the national body for careers education in England, delivering support to schools and colleges to deliver modern, 21st century careers education.

Careers Hubs bring together schools, colleges, employers, and apprenticeship providers in a local area. The goal is to work together and help schools and colleges improve how they prepare young people for their best next steps.

Scope and Purpose of the role 

The Enterprise and Skills Executive (also known as an Enterprise Coordinator) sits at the heart of the local Network to help schools and colleges improve their careers and enterprise programmes and to engage with the world of work. 

The successful candidate will be joining an ambitious team, working at a high level with senior leaders from across many sectors to make a direct impact on workforce skills and raise the career aspirations of our young people in New Forest & Eastleigh.
