Your New Role


The salary also includes a Market Supplement payment which is subject to review.

Will be required to undertake some work during the evening or at weekends. You will also be required to participate in a team rota to cover the period between 8:00am and 6:00pm and required to participate in a 24 x7 standby rota.

As part of the team you will work to deliver the support, maintenance and ongoing operability of the IT system and server infrastructure.

The role will involve resolving incidents and requests according to SLAs. You will also be involved with maintaining, supporting and reviewing technical systems as well as developing, installing and testing.  You will investigate problems and be able to identify and implement solutions to prevent future failures.

You will also implement/maintain IT solutions to industry standards and best practice while  maintaining operational integrity and efficiency.


What you’ll need to succeed

You will be skilled in configuring and optimising use of Hardware and Software as well as technical authoring.  You will be able to document technical environments.  You will have a working knowledge of Microsoft technologies and a broad working knowledge of IT systems and server infrastructure across PCC.  You will also have operational knowledge of core infrastructure systems such as virtualisation, backup, Active Directory, Storage Area Networks, Windows Server and Server Hardware.  You will have excellent customer service skills.

In addition you will need to have operational knowledge of the following:

  • File and Application Servers
  • IT security systems such as AV
  • Azure
  • Infrastructure as a Service
  • Windows Server Operating Systems
  • Exchange
  • Active Directory
  • Virtualisation/Thin Client Technologies
  • Backup technologies
  • Storage Technologies
  • IT monitoring systems
  • PC and industry standard peripheral hardware
  • Web Browsers and standard Office productivity software
  • Cloud Technologies
