Hours: An average of 22.5 hours per Hours will be worked over 2 week rota which may include weekends and bank holidays:

Week 1- Mon 10:45- 18:00, Fri 11:00- 18:00, Sat and Sun 09:00- 15:00

Week 2- Tues, Wed, Thurs 11:00- 18:00

Additional salary information – This role attracts a shift allowance of 7.5%

The Russetts is a purpose built service in Hilsea that provides respite care for adults who have learning disabilities and live within the area of Portsmouth.  In addition to this Russets also provide adults with a learning disability with residential accommodation. Russets is the only unit of its kind in Portsmouth.

We currently have a vacancy for our Respite and Residential service.

Your New Role

You will need to:

Maintain a clean kitchen environment including floors, surfaces and store cupboards.  

Be responsible for cleansing of all equipment and defrosting and cleaning of refrigerators and freezers. Use prescribed cleaning materials as required.

Ensure cooking utensils and crockery are washed thoroughly after use.

Ensure all food preparation is undertaken as directed by the Cook.

Keep records up to date and ensure you follow compliance with health and safety.

What you’ll need to succeed

You will have a sound Knowledge of cleaning products and their usage.

Need to be familiar with a range of dietary requirements.

Have Good organisational skills and be able to practice good stock control.

You will have good interpersonal and communication skills and be flexible and able to adapt to changing workloads of the team and requirements of the unit. You will also have an understanding of the policy regarding safeguarding vulnerable people.
