Your New Role

Portsmouth City Council has an exciting opportunity for a talented senior marketing professional to develop and deliver creative and engaging marketing and communications campaigns for our housing, neighbourhoods and building services directorate, as well as providing expert guidance around sensitive media issues and championing best practice in resident engagement.

The post-holder will be part of the centralised marketing and corporate communications team but will need to forge strong working relationships with stakeholders across housing, neighbourhood and building services. You will deliver a range of marketing campaigns and communications activity, including developing a directorate marketing communications strategy, producing promotional collateral and content for press, social media and digital channels. You’ll also be overseeing the production of the directorate’s award-winning tenant magazine, House Talk.

What you’ll need to succeed

We are looking for an excellent all-round marketing professional with the right skills and experience, but also the drive and enthusiasm, to successfully deliver creative and engaging marketing campaigns for energy services and resources. 

If you have a communications, marketing or PR degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area and/or appropriate professional qualification or proven experience in communications, PR or marketing, including demonstrable experience of social or recruitment marketing.  If you have a good track record developing and delivering successful targeted marketing or communications strategies and campaigns designed to engage a wide range of target audiences, delivering results to clear SMART objectives.  If you have the ability to produce a wide range of creative content and effective communications then we would love to hear from you.
