Salary: Band 7, £25,481 – £29, 577 (£22,001 – £25,538 p.a, TTO, 39 weeks) 

Hours:  37 hours per week term time only (39 weeks per year)

Your New Role

We are seeking to appoint a Positive Attendance Lead to join the Virtual School and College team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team whose purpose is to promote and improve the school attendance of Portsmouth Looked After Children. 

You will be

  • An active member of the Virtual School and College Team and contribute to the identity of this team, providing the vital link with education.
  • Safeguard the interests and welfare of looked after children and improve educational outcomes through securing good attendance, working with schools, education centres, social workers, parents/carers and other partners to remove barriers to access, engagement and participation.
  • Provide support and challenge around pastoral issues affecting inclusion, specifically in relation to attendance and behaviour, following Portsmouth and national guidance and as part of our Corporate Parent role.
  • In achieving the above, support each child and young person to ensure that their voice is heard and their views taken into account. This will include one to one work with children with education support.
