Your new role
Market research and consultation with our residents and stakeholders is at the heart of the council’s approach to building better services for the city. We are looking for a talented and customer-focused market research professional to lead our forward thinking research team.
If you are highly motivated and proactive, with a strong commitment to using your excellent research and insight skills to take the council forward, and a real passion for making a difference to our customers, we want to hear from you.
We believe in work-life balance too. The council is trialling hybrid working, and our expectation is that this role would spend one/two days per week in the office in the centre of Portsmouth, and three/four days a week working from home. And we believe in on-going professional development, and will discuss opportunities and aspirations, as well as working hours and location, with the successful candidate.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will have sufficient experience or a professional qualification in a research related field and/or a degree with significant social research content (at least 30% social methods and coverage of research methods).
You will have experience of leading a team to perform at a high level. You will also have experience, knowledge and understanding of a wide range of market research tools, data sources and software (segmentation software experience would be beneficial).
You will have proven skills or experience managing research projects and a varied workload along with excellent written and verbal communications skills.
