Your New Role

As a Senior Transport Planner, you will be responsible for the drafting Traffic Regulation Orders to control parking, speed and traffic movements as well as providing expert advice on resolving complex parking issues and assisting with the delivery of the Council’s Residents’ Parking Programme.  You will engage and consult with members, community groups, residents and other stakeholders on parking and other Traffic Regulation Orders issues addressing varied and complex queries raised.

What you’ll need to succeed

You will need a relevant degree level education or demonstrable equivalent professional experience, significant experience of drafting Traffic Regulation Orders to control parking, speed and traffic movements and well-developed project delivery skills (including skills for coordination, liaison and the ability to plan and monitor project plans in order to achieve major projects on time and within budget). You will need to demonstrate experience of developing and implementing residents parking schemes, communicate messages clearly, concisely and at a level appropriate to the audience and have the proven ability to represent the service with direction at highly challenging meetings.

You will demonstrates high levels of verbal communication and reasoning, putting forward persuasive and compelling arguments, excellent writing skills including the ability to write clear, basic and appropriate information for reports, articles and briefing papers including technical and Cabinet reports where necessary.
