We are excited to offer 2 Summer Play Scheme Worker posts and a Play Leader Post for this year, within a charity based in Portsmouth, to join our current team.  The Roberts Centre enjoys a reputation for its work with families and children and has achieved national recognition for its high-quality services in the areas of Homelessness, Parenting and Childcare. The Play Scheme will be operating during the Summer to support vulnerable children.

X1 Summer Playscheme Leader – Seasonal Employment (6 weeks)

Salary: Equivalent to  £19,278 ( FTE at 37 hours per week)

Hours: 35 hours per week for 6 weeks

Location: Crasswell Street, Portsmouth


X2 Summer Playscheme Workers – Seasonal Employment (6 weeks)

Salary: Equivalent to   £18,278 (FTE at 37 hours per week)

Hours: 35 hours per week for 6 weeks

Location: Crasswell Street, Portsmouth

We are looking for inspirational people to join our team for 6 weeks over the summer.  You will be planning and delivering a range of stimulating activities such as, cooking and social activities, storytelling, going on outings (if current roadmap continues as expected), crafting and outside play provision. You will also be providing snacks, clearing up after the session and ensuring the children are in a safe and secure environment.

As a key member of the summer playscheme, you will build close links with parents, referring keyworkers and activity providers and ensure the welfare and health and safety of every child and member of the team. This will require previous school, nursery or youth work experience, a First Aid Certificate (although don’t let this put you off if yours is out of date) and ideally, a childcare or youth work qualification.

You need to be available for the whole of the summer period, ideally available for training on 21st July for 3 days, 26th July – 27th August for play scheme delivery and 31st August for evaluation and feedback.

You will be someone who shares our values and who has the passion to help us to improve the lives of Children and Families.

Successful applicants are required to complete a DBS check.  Disclosure expense will be met by the Roberts Centre.
